House of Zorrilla and Museum
José Zorrilla, the author of Don Juan Tenorio, was born in this house on 21 February 1817. The City Council acquired this property in 1917 to transform it into the House-Museum of Zorrilla. The house, which is open to the public, brings together various personal possessions, furniture and documents that belonged to the Romantic writer. Since November 2007 "Casa Zorrilla" promotes cultural programs and initiatives focused on literature, books, poems, theatre, with especial attention to Romanticism and the person of Jose Zorrilla. It has a free access library for researchers. Additionally, recitals, lectures, workshops, conferences, events, shows, performances are held in its hall "Narciso Alonso Cortés" or in the garden in summer.
