The Municipal Library"Adolfo Miaja de la Muela" was inaugurated in the old central market in 1984. Currently, since 1 April 2003, it is located in the "Centro Integrado Zona Este", with a surface of approximately 1,200 square metres. It has a children section, video library, loan service, reading and consultation rooms, infocentre and newspaper archive. It also organises reading encouragement activities and manages the periodical publications fund of the CIDES (Centre for Social Information, Documentation and Research) of the Valladolid City Council.
