The collections of documents housed in the University of Valladolid Archive constitute what is, at present, perhaps the largest archive in any Spanish university and one of the most important in terms of the age and size of its collections as well as the social and territorial information concerning each period, since for long periods of its history, especially from the 19th century, the university district of Valladolid included several provinces in the centre and north of Spain .
It is structured in two sections: - The historical archive.
- The intermediate archive.
