The University of Valladolid is one of the leading centers of higher education in Spain. Founded in the late 13th century, it is today a sound and prestigious institution in the fields of humanities, social, health and natural physical sciences, engineering and Spanish as a foreign language. It currently boasts over 26.000 students enrolled on over one hundred B.A. and BSc. degrees, 17 postgraduate courses and 50 master’s degrees.

The Spanish courses for foreigners are taught at the University Language Centre, located on the Miguel campus which is home to the University of Valladolid’s most modern faculties, in a safe and easily accessible area, providing an ideal setting for learning and practicing Spanish. The campus also boasts many common leisure areas and facilities such as gardens, bars and cafeterias where students can relax after the Spanish lessons and chat with other students. One of our main priorities is to foster language interaction.

The Language Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology in language learning: white digital boards, audiovisual equipment and wireless Internet access throughout, a language lab and a multimedia room. It also has a large leisure meeting room with free-access to computers.

We offer a wide range of courses all year round: Spanish in Summer, Spanish Language and Culture, Fall and Spring Academic Semesters, Course in Spanish Studies, Spanish for Business, Spanish for Healthcare, Spanish all year round, preparation for the D.E.L.E. exams, Teacher Training Courses and combined programs. The Center also organizes tailor-made courses for groups designed on the basis of the characteristics of each particular group.

The Center is recognized as an “Accredited Center by the Cervantes Institute” for teaching Spanish as a foreign language. It is also an Examination Center for the DELE, SIELE and CCSE exams.

All our programs combine language teaching with complementary activities and trips, which help students to become immersed in the language and culture of Spain. The Language Center also offers an accommodation service for students in families, university flats and halls of residence.
